Bringing an ancestral know-how back to life

Trolet was born from the mind of Jules, a passionate second-hand enthusiast who loved finding great items in thrift stores. His problem? He could never find shoes. They were too dirty, damaged, and unhygienic.

Convinced that thousands of shoes could be saved through reconditioning, Jules traded his budding real estate career for an apprenticeship in shoemaking, so he could refurbish the shoes he himself wouldn't dare to buy.

He surrounded himself with Solène, a creative passionate about cinema and storytelling, and Nathanaël, driven by the desire to use technology for environmental benefit.

It all starts in sorting centers and thrift stores where shoes that are worth it are collected before they end up being exported or in landfills.

We then bring them to our workshop in Montreal to give them a second life thanks to the ancestral know-how of shoemaking (detailed steps below)

Once reconditioned, they are resold at fair prices, through a new experience, far from the classic thrift store experience. Because they are much more than just used shoes.

Our Process

We select our shoes based on brand and manufacturing. Price or brand image do not always guarantee quality. Even high-end houses sometimes use materials that are not very durable. Therefore, we only choose well-constructed pairs, made from repairable and durable materials, mainly leather. We are demanding, because we want to offer shoes that truly last.

Before any intervention, the pair is disinfected to eliminate bacteria and neutralize odors. We use a technology inspired by hospital protocols, which ensures a very high level of disinfection.

Each pair is then meticulously cleaned: we always start with the inside to remove dust and residues, then we take care of the outside, dry or with water, using appropriate soapy solutions.

Each pair is repaired according to its needs: from a simple recoloring to the addition of protective soles, and even a complete resoling. We provide the necessary care to give them a second life.

The finishing touch: we spray Trolet's signature scent, created in a perfumery workshop in Montreal. A fragrance with French accents, designed to transport you from the moment you open the package.
